Germantown Man Arrested After Allegedly Threatening to Kill His Child with a Knife

The Montgomery County Police Department (MCPD) responded to a domestic disturbance on Saturday, July 26, 2025, in the 19900 block of Stoney Point Way in Germantown, where a man was reportedly threatening to kill his child. Officers arrested 47-year-old Dugan Gokhan after a Taser was used to disarm him, and he was charged with multiple offenses including assault, child abuse, and reckless endangerment.

According to MCPD, “Officers spoke with family members and tried to deescalate the situation while attempting to communicate with Gokhan. When officers entered the home, Gokhan went into the kitchen and held a large knife to his son. Officers gave multiple commands for Gokhan to drop the knife, but he refused.

A 5th District sergeant entered the home and deployed his Taser, causing Gokhan to drop the knife. Officers were able to safely remove the child and arrested Gokhan without injury to the child or officers. Gokhan was charged with first- and second-degree assault, second-degree child abuse, reckless endangerment, and resisting arrest. He is currently being held at the Montgomery County Central Processing Unit.”
