Sassy Cleaners Closes After Thirty Years, Dunkin’ to Take Over The Space

A new Dunkin’ location is set to open at 4011 Norbeck Road in Rockville, taking over a space with a long history in the community. The coffee and donut chain will be moving into the space that was previously home to Sassy Cleaners for three decades, joining the shopping center that’s home to Angelo’s Deli and EATHAI (near Big Greek Cafe).

Sassy Cleaners, a longtime fixture at the Norbeck Road address, wrapped up its cleaning and pressing operations on May 23rd, with the store officially closing on June 14th. In a final message to their patrons, the owners of Sassy Cleaners thanked the community for 30 years of business, marking the end of an era for the beloved dry cleaner.

Dunkin’ has continued to push into the local market. A new Dunkin’/Baskin Robbins combo just had a grand opening at 12106 Georgia Ave. in Wheaton/Glenmont, a new store opened on the ground level of the Central Silver Spring apartment complex, and an additional upcoming location was recently announced for Wootton Pkwy. A new location is also under construction in Muncaster Rd. in Derwood. An opening timeframe is not yet available for the upcoming Norbeck store.
