Back in January we let you know that bartaco signed on to open its first Maryland location at 11886 Grand Park Ave. in North Bethesda’s Pike & Rose. The restaurant has received a permit valued at $1.12 million and has started to work on renovating the space, according to Maryland Newsletters. bartaco will be taking over the space that was previously home to Nada, which closed last September after nearly eight years. Last week we reported that the restaurant had an upcoming hearing for its liquor license scheduled for August 21, but that hearing has been postponed until October 2nd.
bartaco has nearby locations in DC (Mt. Vernon and The Wharf) and Virginia (Ballston, Mosaic, Reston). The restaurant is “inspired by the beach culture of brazil, uruguay and southern california. we are upscale street food with a coastal vibe in a relaxed environment. we are freshly-squeezed juices, specialty cocktails and beer out of a bottle. bartaco evokes a visit to a stylish beach resort and creates an unforgettable experience.”
