Fontina Grille Leaving King Farm After Nearly 25 Years to Relocate to Newly Built Space Nearby

Fontina Grille at 801 Pleasant Dr., a longtime Rockville favorite known for its classic Italian dishes and warm hospitality, will relocate from its current King Farm location to The Laureate at Westside at Shady Grove in fall 2026.

The announcement was made today by development partners The Housing Opportunities Commission of Montgomery County (HOC), EYA LLC, and Bozzuto, who described the restaurant’s upcoming 5,135-square-foot space at the corner of Columbus Avenue and Gramercy Boulevard as a new cornerstone for the growing community.

“We are thrilled to welcome Fontina Grille to Westside,” said McLean Quinn, President and CEO of EYA, LLC. “As a beloved part of the broader community already, Fontina Grille will bring a new gathering place to the heart of Westside, serving as a lively community hub where neighbors can come together and enjoy an exceptional dining experience.”

Fontina Grille owner Ali Abduljabbar added, “We are thrilled to bring Fontina Grille to The Laureate. This new chapter gives us the opportunity to continue serving our loyal guests while welcoming new neighbors in a dynamic and growing community.”

Construction of the new restaurant will begin soon, with the move expected to take place in 2026. The new space will feature a private dining room and expanded outdoor seating designed for both family gatherings and special occasions. The current Fontina Grille, located at 801 Pleasant Drive in King Farm, will remain open until the relocation, roughly 1.5 miles away.
