The Montgomery County Police Department (MCPD) and Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Services (MCFRS) responded at approximately 9:05 a.m. on Friday to a two-vehicle collision at the intersection of Good Hope Road and Good Hope Drive in Silver Spring involving a Ford F-150 and a black Acura RDX.
According to MCPD, first responders found the driver of the Acura in cardiac arrest, and despite lifesaving efforts, the individual was pronounced dead at the scene.
The adult male driver of the Ford and a 4-year-old child were transported to a local hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries. According to preliminary findings, the westbound Acura crossed the centerline and struck the eastbound Ford in the eastbound lane. The Collision Reconstruction Unit is continuing its investigation, and police will release additional information, including the name of the deceased, after next of kin have been notified.
