Takoma Park Police have announced the arrest of a man following a reported burglary attempt Tuesday night.
According to Takoma Park Police Chief Antonio DeVaul, Darrell Reich III, 48, of no fixed address, was arrested and charged with burglary and trespassing. A mugshot was not provided in the press release.
Police said officers responded to the 1100 block of Haverford Road at approximately 8:03 p.m. on January 7 after receiving a report of a burglary. The victim told officers that the suspect attempted to enter her residence by removing and damaging a living room window screen before opening the window.
Investigators said Reich then stuck his head through the open window and began yelling at the victim. Police also confirmed that Reich was already subject to a posted trespass notice for the area that had been issued by the Takoma Park Police Department.
Reich was taken into custody, charged accordingly, and transported to the Montgomery County Central Processing Unit.
