The Montgomery County Police Department (MCPD) shared on Wednesday night that first district officers and Rockville City Police were dispatched to the 2130 block of Veirs Mill Road following a reported stabbing.
MCPD shared that the scene has been secured and that the extent of injuries has not been confirmed. Rockville City Police are the lead agency on the investigation.
Update by Rockville Police: “The Rockville City Police Department is investigating an attempted robbery and aggravated assault that occurred late Tuesday night on a walking path behind 2001 Twinbrook Parkway.
On January 14, 2026, at approximately 11:23 p.m., officers responded to a report of an assault after a 29-year-old male Rockville resident fled to a local business in the 2100 block of Veirs Mill Road seeking assistance. The victim reported that he had been walking on a path behind 2001 Twinbrook Parkway when he was approached by three unknown Hispanic males who demanded his wallet. When the victim refused, the suspects assaulted him.
During the assault, the victim sustained several puncture wounds to his upper torso. The victim was able to escape the area and run to a nearby business, where police and emergency medical personnel were contacted. He was transported to a local trauma center for treatment to non-life-threatening injuries. His condition is reported as stable.
The suspects fled the area prior to police arrival and have not yet been identified. This incident remains under investigation.
