Police Investigating Attempted Robbery and Stabbing That Occurred Wednesday Night

Rockville City Police are investigating an attempted robbery and aggravated assault that occurred late Wednesday night on a walking path behind 2001 Twinbrook Parkway.

According to police, officers responded around 11:23pm on January 14 after a 29-year-old Rockville man ran into a business in the 2100 block of Veirs Mill Road seeking help. The victim told officers he had been walking on the path behind 2001 Twinbrook Parkway when he was approached by three unknown Hispanic males who demanded his wallet. When he refused, the suspects assaulted him.

Police say the victim suffered several puncture wounds to his upper torso during the assault. He was able to escape and reach a nearby business, where police and emergency medical personnel were contacted. He was transported to a local trauma center with non life threatening injuries and is reported to be in stable condition.

The suspects fled the area before officers arrived and have not yet been identified. The incident remains under investigation by the Rockville City Police Department. Anyone who may have witnessed the incident or has information is asked to contact Rockville City Police detectives at 240-314-8938.
