Casey Stewart Boston, 36, was arrested after the Montgomery County Police Department (MCPD) connected him to multiple overnight thefts involving stolen packages and property taken from vehicles in the Castle Boulevard and Woodlake Drive areas of Silver Spring.
He was charged with multiple counts of theft and rogue and vagabond, then released on bond the following day.
According to MCPD, “On Tuesday, January 13, 2026, at approximately 10:58 a.m., 3rd District officers responded to the 14100 block of Castle Boulevard for multiple reports of theft that occurred overnight from January 12 to January 13.
Upon arrival, officers spoke with a witness who had called 9-1-1 to report the suspicious behavior and provided officers with a description of the suspect. At the time, other arriving officers observed the suspect matching the description, later identified as Boston, in the area. Boston was apprehended and found to be in possession of an assortment of stolen packages from residents in the area and property consistent with theft from vehicles.
The preliminary investigation revealed that during the overnight hours of January 12 into January 13, Boston stole packages and was seen looking into vehicles in the 3500 block of Woodlake Drive and the 14100 block of Castle Boulevard. He was transported to the Montgomery County Central Processing Unit (CPU) where he has been charged with multiple counts of theft and rogue and vagabond. Boston was released on bond on Wednesday, January 14.
The Montgomery County Department of Police is encouraging community members and residents to remain vigilant for suspicious activity and to report any in progress suspicious activity and crime to 9-1-1.
