Officers were dispatched at 7:08 p.m. to the 400 block of North Frederick Avenue in Gaithersburg following a report of a shooting, according to the Montgomery County Police Department (MCPD).
Police located a male victim at the scene with an apparent gunshot wound to the leg. The victim’s condition has not been released. MCPD shared that Gaithersburg Police are handling the investigation. Update: Officers from the Gaithersburg Police Department are investigating a shooting that occurred Monday evening at the McDonald’s in the 400 block of North Frederick Avenue.
At approximately 7:08pm on January 19, 2026, Gaithersburg Police and Montgomery County Police 6th District officers responded to the location for a reported shooting. A male victim was found with an apparent gunshot wound to the leg.
The victim was transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Police say the suspect or suspects fled the area in an unknown direction. The investigation remains active and ongoing. Additional information about the suspect was not provided.
