Interior Buildout Set to Begin for Bubbakoo’s Burritos In Olney

A permit valued at $350,000 has been approved for Bubbakoo’s Burritos as the fast-casual chain prepares to begin interior construction on its upcoming Olney restaurant near Roots Market.

Back in June, we reported that New Jersey based Bubbakoo’s Burritos had signed on to open its first Montgomery County location at 16822 Georgia Avenue in Olney. Since that announcement, the removal of “coming soon” signage from the storefront led to questions about whether the project was still moving forward.

Both Bubbakoo’s Burritos and the leasing team previously confirmed to us that the Olney location remains active and planned. A representative for the brand shared that the restaurant is now targeting an opening sometime later 2026.

The earlier report also resolved a months long uncertainty surrounding the space’s previous tenant in waiting. Ramen Ya had initially been expected to open at the location and had even delivered equipment, but after an extended period of inactivity it was confirmed that the ramen shop would no longer be moving forward in Olney.

One development since the initial announcement is Bubbakoo’s Burritos opened its first Montgomery County location as a stall inside Market Hall at Clarksburg Premium Outlets, located at 22705 Clarksburg Road.

Bubbakoo’s Burritos is a fast-casual Mexican fusion chain founded in Point Pleasant, New Jersey, in 2008. The concept centers on customizable burritos, bowls, tacos, and quesadillas, along with a menu that includes specialty items and house created combinations.
