Monumental Unveils “The Halo,” a New Premium Experience Coming to Capital One Arena

Monumental Sports & Entertainment has unveiled plans for The Halo, a new multi-level hospitality experience designed to transform how fans experience events inside Capital One Arena.

Scheduled to debut ahead of the 2027–28 season, The Halo will accommodate nearly 4,500 guests and feature a wide range of seating, clubs, and social spaces geared toward season ticket holders, suite owners, small groups, and select ticket tiers. The space is being designed to transition seamlessly between NHL and NBA games, concerts, and family events.

According to MSE, The Halo is intended to rethink the traditional arena model by prioritizing flexibility, comfort, and choice. The experience will include concierge-led service, evolving spaces, and multiple culinary concepts, allowing guests to shape their own night depending on the event and their preferences. Select ticket options are expected to start at under $100.

Dining will play a central role in The Halo experience. Plans call for eight distinct food and beverage concepts, with seating for up to 1,000 guests, curated to reflect the flavors and energy of Washington, D.C. Concepts will range from a pizza and wine bar with an open kitchen, to a high-energy cantina, a beer hall designed as a social sports bar, a tucked-away speakeasy inspired by the city’s music history, and a brasserie centered on steak frites and classic cocktails.

Beyond dining, The Halo will feature hidden lounges, boutique retail spaces, and tasting rooms designed to reward exploration. Reimagined seating and club layouts, open circulation, and two center-ice and center-court bars with direct sightlines into the bowl will allow guests to choose how and where they experience the action. Season ticket holders can also expect wider seats, with some measuring up to four inches wider than standard arena seating.

MSE says the space will blend a members-only feel with an energetic, social atmosphere, supported by dedicated concierges trained to anticipate guest needs and personalize the experience. Flexible layouts will also allow The Halo to function beyond game nights, adapting for corporate meetings, private events, and celebrations.

The Halo is a key component of MSE’s $800+ million transformation of Capital One Arena, part of a broader effort to modernize the venue and contribute to the revitalization of downtown Washington, D.C. Additional details about the full arena redesign, including new seating experiences, fan amenities, technology upgrades, and hospitality offerings across all levels, are expected to be unveiled later this summer.

Future phases of the project will also introduce new premium options for fans and businesses, ranging from intimate all-inclusive private spaces for small groups to redesigned club seating for individual fans seeking elevated comfort without committing to a traditional suite.
