Quickway Japanese Hibachi has officially opened its newest Montgomery County location, bringing fast-casual teppanyaki-style dining to Burtonsville Town Center.
The restaurant is now open at 15616 Old Columbia Pike, taking over the space that was previously home to Khana a Claypot Grille from 2014 through 2024. Back in November 2024, we shared that Quickway was planning to move into the location, and after more than a year of anticipation, the doors are now open.
Quickway Japanese Hibachi is known for translating the traditional hibachi experience into a quick-service format that prioritizes speed, affordability, and consistency. Rather than the theatrical elements often associated with sit-down hibachi steakhouses, the focus here is on fresh ingredients and made-to-order meals that can fit easily into a lunch break or busy family dinner schedule.
The restaurant features an open-kitchen layout where customers can watch their meals prepared on large steel grills. Orders move through an efficient, assembly-style line, keeping wait times short while still allowing each dish to be cooked fresh. The overall vibe is clean, energetic, and built for high turnover without feeling rushed.
The menu centers on customizable hibachi meals, with guests choosing from proteins such as chicken, beef, shrimp, salmon, or tofu. Each entrée is cooked to order and served with mixed vegetables and a choice of fried rice, white rice, or noodles. For those looking for a more complete spread, Quickway’s bento boxes bundle several favorites into one meal, typically including a protein, rice or noodles, vegetables, California rolls, spring rolls, and dumplings. House-made sauces play a big role in the appeal, with the savory signature house sauce and the popular Yum Yum sauce frequently mentioned by fans as must-haves.
Beyond the grill, the menu also includes sushi rolls, poke bowls, and appetizers like gyoza and shrimp tempura, giving diners plenty of options whether they are craving something hearty or lighter.
