Suspect Seen Touching Women’s Hair in Viral Metro Videos Arrested

UPDATE: Metro Transit Police have announced that officers located the suspect late Monday night. Anyone with information about this individual is still encouraged to contact MTPD.
A 28-year-old Montgomery County man is wanted by Metro Transit Police following social media videos that appear to show a man touching multiple women’s hair on Metro trains without their knowledge.

Metro Transit Police have identified the suspect as Bryan Betancur, 28, of Silver Spring. Police say he has an active arrest warrant through Arlington County General District Court for an assault and battery offense that allegedly occurred aboard a Silver Line train servicing the Clarendon Metro Station on Sunday, March 1, 2026, at approximately 10:09pm.

Authorities say they are aware of the videos circulating online and are actively investigating. “We are aware of videos circulating on social media depicting inappropriate behavior toward Metro customers,” Metro Transit Police said in a statement. “We’re taking reports seriously and actively investigating every lead. If you have information about this individual, call 202-962-2121 or text MYMTPD (696873).”
