Montgomery County police reported a series of burglaries, vehicle thefts, and other incidents across multiple districts on March 26, 2026, according to the department’s daily crime summary.
The 1st District, which covers Rockville, Potomac, North Potomac, Darnestown, and parts of Derwood, reported a residential burglary with an arrest in the 14000 block of Saddle River Dr. around 8:34pm. A suspect was found inside an unlocked home after multiple reports of someone attempting door handles in the area and was taken into custody.
In the 2nd District, which serves Bethesda, Chevy Chase, North Bethesda, and parts of Potomac and Silver Spring, two residential burglaries were reported. One occurred on the 5100 block of Parklawn Ter., where entry was made through a bedroom window. Another on Holly Leaf Ct. involved forced entry through a rear glass door, with the master bedroom searched.
The 4th District, covering Wheaton, Aspen Hill, Glenmont, and surrounding areas, reported two overnight auto thefts. The incidents occurred on the 12100 block of Veirs Mill Rd. and the 4100 block of Isbell St., with vehicles stolen from a parking area and a driveway.
The 5th District, which includes Germantown, Clarksburg, and Damascus, saw multiple incidents. A residential burglary was reported in the 19500 block of Gunners Branch Rd., where a victim returned to find their apartment entered and searched. A commercial burglary also occurred at a liquor store on the 18300 block of Leaman Farm Rd., where three suspects shattered the front door glass to gain entry. Additionally, a hate/bias vandalism incident was reported at Clarksburg High School, where hate speech was found written on a bathroom wall. That case remains under investigation.
The 6th District, covering Gaithersburg, Montgomery Village, and surrounding areas, reported several incidents. A residential burglary on the 9300 block of Weathervane Pl. involved a suspect entering through an unlocked screen door before fleeing when confronted. An auto theft was reported in the 18500 block of Boysenberry Dr., where a vehicle was stolen from a parking lot. Police also reported an aggravated assault on the 9600 block of Lost Knife Rd. around 8:34pm, where a physical altercation resulted in one individual being struck with a bottle and injured.
