Preview of the DMV’s First Molly Tea

A new international tea concept is making its debut in Montgomery County, with the DMV’s first Molly Tea set to open in Rockville this week. A first-look video of the Molly Tea experience can be seen below.

The jasmine-focused beverage brand, which originated in Shenzhen, China, will officially open its doors on Tuesday, April 21 at 860 Festival Street. The shop will share space with the upcoming Genki Wagyu House.

Ahead of the opening, a preview event offered a first look at the menu, where attendees were served complimentary drinks. Among the offerings sampled were the Snowy Jasmine, Pistachio Jasmine Coconut, and Pistachio Champaca Coconut, highlighting the brand’s focus on floral-forward flavors. Molly Tea is known for its signature “Jasmine Whipped Cream Top,” a jasmine-infused foam designed to add a smooth, aromatic layer to its beverages. The menu will feature a range of options including milk teas, matcha drinks, iced teas, and fruit smoothies.

Founded in Shenzhen, the brand centers its concept around jasmine and other floral aromas, drawing inspiration from traditional Chinese tea culture while presenting it through a more modern lens. The company describes its approach as blending tea with a “creative scent experience,” aiming to offer something distinct from more traditional bubble tea shops.

With its emphasis on floral flavors and presentation, Molly Tea has gained popularity among younger consumers and is now expanding into new markets, including the DMV. The Rockville location marks the brand’s first in the region.
