A 3-year-old girl has died following a reported drowning in Potomac on Saturday evening, according to Montgomery County police.
Officers from the 2nd District, along with Fire and Rescue personnel, responded at approximately 5:31pm to the 10900 block of Burbank Drive for the report of a possible child drowning. When first responders arrived, they located the child and transported her to a local hospital, where she was later pronounced dead.
The girl’s body will be taken to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Baltimore, where an autopsy will be conducted to determine the official cause and manner of death. Police say the investigation remains active and ongoing, but no foul play is suspected.
