The Town of Poolesville is warning residents about a suspicious email that appears to have been sent from an official town account.
After several community members reported receiving an email containing a document shared via OneDrive from [email protected], officials confirmed the message is not legitimate and should not be opened.
In a statement, the Town of Poolesville advised, “If you received a document via OneDrive from [email protected], it is not a legitimate document, and please delete it immediately. If you did open the document, change your passwords as soon as possible.”
Residents are urged to avoid clicking on any links or downloading attachments from the email and to take precautions if they may have already interacted with the file.
