Detectives with the Montgomery County Department of Police are continuing an active investigation into a video recorded inside a school changing room during a 2018 play at Walter Johnson High School, authorities said.
According to police, investigators with the department’s Special Victims Investigations Division (SVID) have determined that James Mulhern III recorded the video, which shows four individuals in various stages of undress. Officials noted that no nudity was found in the recording.
Detectives have already identified and contacted all four individuals who appeared in the video. As part of the ongoing investigation, authorities have seized more than 100 electronic devices—including computers, cell phones, tablets, and other digital media—from both the school and Mulhern’s residence. These items are currently undergoing detailed forensic analysis.
Police emphasized that the case remains active and complex. Investigators are continuing to review the evidence to determine whether any additional crimes may have occurred, a process they say will take time.
Authorities stated that if additional victims are identified, they will be notified directly by SVID detectives. Once the investigation is complete, police plan to release further information to the public.
Anyone with information that could assist investigators is urged to contact the Special Victims Investigations Division at (240) 773-5400.
