MCPD Reports Multiple Burglaries, Hate Incidents Across County on April 27

Montgomery County Police shared an overview of reported calls for service on April 27, 2026, including burglaries, thefts, robberies, and multiple hate/bias-related incidents across several districts.

In the 2nd District, which covers Bethesda, Chevy Chase, and parts of Potomac, a commercial burglary was reported around 8:09am in the 4700 block of Maple Ave., where a suspect was found inside a business after entering through a door. Later that evening, around 6:42pm, a residential burglary occurred in the 5400 block of Marinelli Rd., where a suspect entered an apartment after taking keys from an unlocked vehicle at a separate location. A hate/bias incident was also reported around 7:10pm in the 7700 block of Whittier Blvd., where a resident found an anti-Semitic note placed on her vehicle.

In the 3rd District, which includes Silver Spring, a vehicle was stolen from the street in the 1900 block of Treetop Ln. sometime between Saturday afternoon and Monday morning.

In the 4th District, covering Wheaton, Glenmont, and Aspen Hill, a hate/bias incident occurred on a Ride On bus near Amherst Ave. and Elkin St. around 4:14pm, where a passenger made anti-Semitic statements toward another rider. Earlier in the day, around 2:17pm, a vandalism/hate incident was reported in the 12200 block of Georgia Ave., where a religious statue was damaged.

In the 6th District, which includes Gaithersburg, Montgomery Village, and Germantown, a commercial burglary was reported around 9:54am in the 9000 block of Rosemont Dr., where a suspect entered a church through an unlocked door and took cash from a collection jar. Later, around 3:30pm, a strong-arm robbery occurred at 96 Main St., where a suspect approached a victim inside a restaurant, assaulted him, and took his jacket before leaving.
