Montgomery County police reported a range of incidents across multiple districts on April 29, 2026, including assaults, thefts, burglaries, and weapons-related offenses.
In the 4th District, which covers Wheaton and Glenmont, an aggravated assault involving a firearm was reported in the 2300 block of Glenmont Circle around 11:15am. Police say a suspect approached a vehicle, displayed a handgun, and made a threatening statement before fleeing on foot.
Also in the 4th District (Wheaton/Glenmont), officers responded to a weapons offense at James Hubert Blake High School on Norwood Road around 11:30am. A loaded handgun was recovered in the school’s parking lot, and one person was taken into custody.
In the 3rd District, which covers Silver Spring, an aggravated assault occurred near Georgia Avenue and Silver Spring Avenue around 12:06pm. According to police, a suspect who had stolen merchandise from a convenience store resisted arrest and assaulted an officer before being taken into custody.
Back in the 4th District (Wheaton/Glenmont), a hate/bias-related assault was reported around 10:39am in the 12200 block of Veirs Mill Road. Police say a suspect made hateful statements toward a passenger on a Ride On bus before punching the victim and fleeing.
In the 5th District, which covers Germantown and Clarksburg, a hate/bias incident was reported at John T. Baker Middle School. Police say a student made antisemitic threats, and in a separate incident, two students made racial comments toward each other.
In the 1st District, which covers Rockville and surrounding areas, a strong-arm robbery was reported around 12:58pm in the 21 Church Street area. A suspect approached a victim in a bathroom, stole his phone, and demanded additional personal items before leaving.
Also in the 1st District (Rockville area), a burglary was reported at homes under construction in the 4000 block of Odessa Shannon Way, where materials were stolen. A separate theft from a vehicle occurred in a parking garage in the 1700 block of Rockville Pike.
In the 3rd District (Silver Spring), an auto theft was reported overnight in the 8600 block of Piney Branch Road, where a vehicle was stolen from a parking lot.
Across the 3rd District (Silver Spring), police also reported a catalytic converter theft series at multiple locations, including the 9900 block of Markham Street, 10000 block of Portland Place, 400 block of Whitestone Road, and 100 block of Eastmoor Drive.
In the 4th District (Wheaton/Glenmont), a separate catalytic converter theft was reported in the 10200 block of Procter Street.
In the 5th District (Germantown/Clarksburg), an aggravated assault was reported around 3:48pm in the 19800 block of Century Boulevard. A juvenile suspect threatened a loss prevention officer after stolen merchandise was recovered and then fled the scene.
