Montgomery County native Lisa Ann Walter will compete tonight in the semifinals of Celebrity Jeopardy! All-Stars on ABC.
Tonight’s lineup features Walter alongside sports personalities Katie Nolan and Mina Kimes, with the semifinal matchup airing at 8pm on ABC and streaming the following day on Hulu.
Walter, who currently stars as second grade teacher Melissa Schemmenti on the hit ABC comedy Abbott Elementary, was born in Silver Spring on August 3, 1963, and grew up in Montgomery County.
She graduated from Montgomery Blair High School in 1979 before earning a theater degree from The Catholic University of America in 1983.
Walter began her entertainment career in stand-up comedy, spending several years performing before landing her own Fox sitcom, My Wildest Dreams. She later starred in the ABC series Life’s Work, playing an assistant district attorney in Baltimore, and has appeared in numerous films while also hosting a Los Angeles radio talk show.
Many fans still know Walter for her memorable role as Chessy in The Parent Trap, though her role on Abbott Elementary has introduced her to a new generation of viewers.
