The Montgomery County Department of Police shared an overview of reported calls for service from May 11, 2026.
In the 1st District, which covers Rockville, Potomac, Darnestown, and southern Gaithersburg, police reported multiple catalytic converter thefts from vehicles on Smoketree Road, Old Canal Road, Deborah Drive, and Henslowe Drive.
The 2nd District, which includes Bethesda, Chevy Chase, North Bethesda, and southern Potomac, saw a theft involving tires and rims from a vehicle in the 9200 block of Jones Mill Road.
In the 4th District, which covers Wheaton, Glenmont, Olney, and Aspen Hill, officers reported an airbag theft from a vehicle in the 14200 block of Georgia Avenue after a window was broken. Police also investigated two separate auto thefts on Arctic Avenue and Greenly Street.
Additionally, police reported a robbery involving a knife near Layhill Road and Glenallan Road. According to MCPD, a man waiting at a bus stop was stabbed and had personal items stolen before being transported to a hospital.
The 5th District, which covers Germantown, Clarksburg, Damascus, and Boyds, included an aggravated assault arrest near Creola Court and Kingsview Road. Police said a stranger approached a family walking in the area and attacked the parents with a knife. According to MCPD, the father restrained the suspect until officers arrived and made an arrest, while the mother was transported to a hospital with serious injuries.
In the 6th District, which covers Gaithersburg, Montgomery Village, and North Potomac, officers investigated an auto theft from a driveway on Sioux Lane. Police also reported a commercial robbery arrest at a BP gas station in the 19300 block of Montgomery Village Avenue after three juveniles allegedly assaulted a clerk and stole property. One person was arrested.
