Police Identify Victim Killed Outside North Bethesda Marriott

Montgomery County Police have identified the victim in Thursday’s fatal shooting at the Bethesda North Marriott Hotel and Conference Center in North Bethesda as 41-year-old Quentin Tyrone Davis, who police say had no known address.

Detectives from the Montgomery County Department of Police Major Crimes Division – Homicide Unit said 2nd District officers and Montgomery County Fire Rescue personnel responded at approximately 11:37 am to the 5700 block of Marinelli Road for the report of a shooting. Officers located Davis in the hotel parking lot suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. Despite lifesaving efforts by officers and fire rescue personnel, Davis was pronounced dead at the scene.

According to investigators, Davis was walking alone through the parking lot toward the hotel when he was confronted by an unknown suspect. Police say the suspect shot Davis following the confrontation and then fled the area on foot.

At this time, no suspect information has been released. Officers, assisted by the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office and Metro Transit Police, canvassed the surrounding area and nearby Metro trains in an effort to locate the suspect.
