The Washington Spirit announced Tuesday that its May 30 match against Seattle Reign FC at Audi Field has officially sold out, marking the earliest sellout announcement in club history.
According to the club, all tickets for the match were claimed 11 days before kickoff. The Spirit said the sellout continues a surge in attendance and fan support that has accelerated over the past several seasons. Washington has now sold out all three of its weekend home matches during the 2026 season, with announced crowds of 19,215 for matches against Portland and Kansas City.
The club said it is the fastest it has ever reached three sellouts in a season and that next Saturday’s match will tie the franchise record for most sellouts in a single season, despite the team still having at least 10 home matches remaining this year.
“Our fans are the reason we continue to achieve new heights. Selling out 11 days before the match is just another proof point of the special bond that exists between our team and DC,” Washington Spirit CEO Kim Stone said in a statement. “Three sellouts in three weekend home matches is a reflection of the passion of this city and the love our fanbase has for this club.”
The Spirit said 20 of the club’s top 24 home attendance marks have occurred since the beginning of the 2024 season. The organization has now recorded nine sellouts in less than two years, dating back to the club-record crowd of 19,897 on June 15, 2024.
Last season, Washington became just the fourth women’s soccer club in the world to average more than 15,000 fans per match, with nearly 237,000 attendees passing through Audi Field during the season.
The May 30 matchup against Seattle Reign FC will serve as the club’s “Spirit Rising Youth Night,” featuring youth-focused activities and experiences throughout the stadium. It will also mark Washington’s final home match before the NWSL’s June break. The Spirit returns to Audi Field on July 3 against the Houston Dash.
The club said the only guaranteed way to still secure tickets for the May 30 match is through the purchase of a half-season ticket plan.
