Vehicle Thefts, Burglary and Assault Included in MCPD Daily Crime Summary for May 20th

MCPD released its daily crime summary for Wednesday, May 20, highlighting several incidents reported across Montgomery County police districts.

In the 1st District, which covers areas including Rockville, Gaithersburg and parts of Potomac, officers reported an auto theft in the 12500 block of Ardennes Avenue at approximately 11:54am. According to MCPD, unknown suspects stole a vehicle from an apartment complex parking area.

In the 3rd District, which includes Silver Spring and surrounding communities, police are investigating a residential burglary and theft from vehicles that occurred between 9:30pm Tuesday, May 19 and 6:30am Wednesday, May 20 in the 5400 block of Whitley Park Terrace. Investigators say unknown suspect(s) forced entry into a secured garage at a condominium complex and broke into multiple vehicles. An exterior door lock was reportedly pried and damaged.

In the 6th District, which covers areas including Gaithersburg, Montgomery Village and Germantown, officers responded to an aggravated assault at approximately 1:29pm in the 9600 block of Lost Knife Road. Police said a woman was physically assaulted at a transit center. The suspect was located and taken into custody.

Meanwhile, in the 2nd District, which covers Bethesda, Chevy Chase and Kensington, officers reported a motorcycle theft at approximately 6:28pm in the 5000 block of Bradley Boulevard.

MCPD noted that the daily crime summary does not reflect all calls for service reported on that date.
