Multiple Vehicle Thefts, Robberies Reported In June 1 MCPD Daily Crime Summary

Montgomery County Police released an overview of reported calls for service from June 1, 2026, which included multiple vehicle thefts, robberies, arrests, and a school threat investigation across several police districts.

In the 1st District, which covers Germantown and surrounding communities, a motorcycle was stolen from a parking garage in the 15900 block of Frederick Road between 3:57am and 4:51am Monday before being recovered nearby.

In the 3rd District, which serves Silver Spring, police reported two motorcycle thefts. One occurred in the 8500 block of Cameron Street sometime between May 25 and June 1, while another was reported in the 8000 block of Eastern Avenue between May 31 and June 1.

The 4th District, which covers Wheaton, Aspen Hill, and Glenmont, saw two vehicle thefts. One vehicle was stolen in the 2300 block of Glenmont Circle, while another was taken from the Northgate Apartments in the 14200 block of Grand Pre Road. Officers also arrested three suspects following a strong-arm robbery near a food truck in the 4100 block of Randolph Road. According to police, the suspects punched and kicked a man before stealing his personal property.

The 5th District, which serves Germantown, Clarksburg, Montgomery Village, and surrounding areas, accounted for several incidents. A catalytic converter was stolen from a vehicle in the unit block of Pickering Court. Police also reported an armed robbery involving a juvenile victim at Rexmore Drive and Locbury Drive, where one of two juvenile suspects allegedly pressed a knife against the victim’s chest before stealing personal property. In a separate incident, officers executing a search warrant in the 20300 block of Beaconfield Terrace seized two handguns, drugs, and cash, leading to the arrest of three individuals.

Additional incidents in the 5th District included vandalism in the 11300 block of Halethorpe Terrace, where a group of juveniles reportedly kicked multiple residential doors as part of an online challenge. Police also investigated a school threat at Roberto Clemente Middle School after a student allegedly made a threatening statement on social media.

In the 6th District, which covers Gaithersburg and Montgomery Village, police investigated a hate-bias incident in the unit block of Copps Hill Court after a racial slur was reportedly written in red marker on a homeowner’s house number sign.

MCPD noted that the report reflects only selected incidents and does not represent all calls for service received on June 1.
