The Montgomery County Department of Police has released its daily crime summary for June 8, 2026, highlighting several notable incidents across the county, including a robbery in Silver Spring, a carjacking in Germantown, a residential burglary in Bethesda, and the arrest of a juvenile found with a loaded handgun in Potomac.
In the 1st District, which covers Potomac and parts of North Potomac, a juvenile male was arrested after officers found him in possession of a loaded handgun in the 12500 block of Park Potomac Avenue at approximately 4:25pm.
In the 2nd District, which covers Bethesda, Chevy Chase, and Kensington, a group of juveniles allegedly forced entry into a vacant apartment in the 2400 block of Ross Road between 9:55pm and 10:06pm. Police said four suspects were apprehended and charged.
In the 3rd District, which covers Silver Spring, Takoma Park, and surrounding communities, a vehicle was reported stolen from the area of Featherwood Drive and Old Columbia Pike at approximately 9:12pm. Earlier in the evening, at about 8pm, unknown suspects allegedly assaulted two victims and stole their property near 51 University Boulevard East before fleeing the area.
In the 5th District, which covers Germantown and Clarksburg, police reported an aggravated assault in the 12000 block of Winding Creek Way. Investigators say that after a family-related argument, a suspect followed the victim home and assaulted him, causing serious injuries.
In the 6th District, which covers Gaithersburg, Montgomery Village, and surrounding areas, a vehicle was reported stolen from the 8100 block of Crabapple Lane at approximately 9:15am. Later that evening, police investigated a robbery classified as a carjacking in the 20100 block of Waringwood Way. According to MCPD, a suspect arranged a meeting to purchase a dirt bike and then forcibly took it from the victim before fleeing the area.
The incidents represent only a portion of the calls for service handled by Montgomery County police on June 8.
