More than three months after temporarily closing for renovations, Minerva Indian Cuisine in Gaithersburg has announced it will return with a new name, a new look, and a refreshed dining experience.
In a message shared with The MoCoShow, the management team revealed that the restaurant at 16240 Frederick Road is undergoing a complete remodel and will reopen as Copper Leaf Indian Cuisine.
“After 25 wonderful years of serving this community, we are taking a short break to evolve,” the restaurant said. “We are currently undergoing a complete remodel to bring you a fresh, modern dining experience.”
The team added that while the closure has created a temporary inconvenience for customers, they are excited to welcome guests back to a completely reimagined space featuring the same authentic Indian flavors.
As previously reported by The MoCoShow in March, Minerva Indian Cuisine temporarily closed to replace kitchen equipment as part of a broader renovation effort. At the time, a representative said no reopening timeline had been established. An opening date for Copper Leaf Indian Cuisine has not yet been announced.
Minerva has long been known for serving authentic Indian cuisine representing multiple regions of India, with an emphasis on traditional flavors and presentation. The restaurant traces its roots back to 1998, when the first Minerva location opened in Herndon, Virginia, before expanding to additional locations across Northern Virginia and Maryland.
