Chicken Salad Chick says its upcoming Olney location remains on track for a mid-July opening as excitement continues to build ahead of the restaurant’s debut.
In a recent social media update, the team shared that the new restaurant is targeting a mid-July opening and thanked the community for its support. The post noted that more than 600 people have already followed the restaurant’s local Facebook page, writing, “Olney has SHOWN UP BIG TIME. We are so grateful for your support.”
As previously reported, the fast-growing Southern-style restaurant is coming to Olney Village Center at 18209 Village Center Drive, next to Hallmark, in the space formerly occupied by a karate studio. The location was initially expected to open in the spring before the timeline shifted to early July. The latest update indicates the project remains on schedule for a mid-July debut.
The Olney restaurant will be operated by franchise owners Jim Schleckser and Carrie Tydings, both of whom have deep roots in the community. The pair has long been involved in private school and nonprofit boards, as well as youth athletics, and they view the restaurant as another way to invest locally and give back to the area they call home.
They have previously shared that the brand’s emphasis on hospitality, service, and community connection played a major role in their decision to bring the concept to Montgomery County. Their goal is to create a welcoming neighborhood spot where guests feel at home, from friendly greetings at the door to the menu of signature chicken salad flavors.
Once it opens, the Olney location will become Chicken Salad Chick’s second restaurant in Maryland, joining the Westminster location. Additional details, including hiring plans and grand opening celebrations, are expected to be announced as the opening date approaches.
