The Montgomery County Department of Police has released its daily crime summaries covering reported incidents from Friday, June 12 through Sunday, June 14, 2026.
In the 1st District, which serves Rockville, Gaithersburg, and surrounding communities, police reported an armed robbery Friday evening at the Red Roof Inn in the 16000 block of Shady Grove Road. According to police, a suspect displayed a handgun and demanded cash from a front desk clerk before fleeing when told there was no money available. No injuries were reported.
In the 2nd District, which serves Bethesda, Chevy Chase, and Kensington, police reported multiple incidents including vehicle thefts on Rockville Pike, Thornwood Road, Creek Shore Drive, and East West Highway. Officers also investigated a strong-arm robbery Saturday night in the 1700 block of East West Highway, where a group of suspects allegedly followed a man from a bus into an apartment building and robbed him. On Sunday, officers responded to a reported hate/bias incident in the 1800 block of East West Highway after a noose was discovered hanging from a tree in a backyard.
In the 3rd District, which serves Silver Spring, Burtonsville, and surrounding areas, police reported a shooting Friday afternoon in the 11500 block of February Circle, where a man was shot in the leg in a parking lot. Officers also investigated a residential burglary in the 1000 block of Quebec Terrace after a suspect was seen inside an apartment before fleeing. Additional incidents included multiple vehicle thefts, two thefts involving tires and rims, and an arrest early Monday morning near Georgia Avenue and Sligo Avenue after a suspect driving a vehicle marked with police lettering allegedly activated emergency lights and pulled over an actual police officer. Police said the armed suspect was arrested.
In the 4th District, which serves Wheaton, Aspen Hill, and Glenmont, officers reported several vehicle thefts, including incidents on Arbutus Avenue, Amherst Avenue, and Arctic Avenue. Police also recovered stolen vehicles in the 1800 block of Duke Drive and the 14200 block of Woodcrest Drive.
In the 5th District, which serves Germantown, Clarksburg, Damascus, and Montgomery Village, police reported an arrest after a man allegedly stole another person’s e-bike from a Giant parking lot in the 13000 block of Middlebrook Road. Officers also investigated a BB gun assault Saturday night near Hopkins Road and Steeple Road, where a man riding a scooter was struck multiple times by BB pellets. A vehicle theft was also reported in the 13200 block of Wonderland Way.
In the 6th District, which serves Gaithersburg, Montgomery Village, and surrounding areas, police reported a residential burglary at a vacant apartment unit on Clopper Road and a strong-arm robbery involving a juvenile victim on Cedar Avenue. Saturday evening, officers investigated two separate robberies in the Rio area. In one incident near Rio Boulevard and Grand Corner Avenue, police said five suspects displayed knives and stole a victim’s belongings. In a second incident near Rio Boulevard and Shelburne Terrace, three suspects confronted a man, implied one was armed with a handgun, and took his property before officers located the suspects nearby. Additional incidents included recovered stolen vehicles, a residential burglary in the unit block of Dalamar Street, and a vehicle stolen from a garage on Butterwick Court.
