The Takoma Park Police Department is investigating an assault involving a knife that occurred at approximately 9:44am on June 12 in the 8400 block of Piney Branch Road, outside a local laundromat.
According to police, the victim reported that the suspect made threats before assaulting them, causing minor injuries during the encounter.
Officers responded immediately and pursued the suspect through Takoma Park and into neighboring Montgomery County. An extensive search involving multiple law enforcement agencies was conducted, but the suspect was not located.
The victim told investigators they had previously experienced a threatening encounter with the same individual. The victim sustained minor injuries and declined medical treatment. The investigation remains active.
