The Montgomery County Police Department shared an overview of reported calls for service from June 25, 2026.
The 2nd District, which covers Bethesda and Chevy Chase, reported one residential burglary. Between 9:05pm and 10:18pm, someone forced open the rear door of a home in the 9300 block of Kendale Road and ransacked multiple rooms.
The 3rd District, which covers Silver Spring and Takoma Park, reported two auto thefts and an aggravated assault. A vehicle was stolen overnight from a parking lot in the 14100 block of Castle Boulevard between 10:30pm on June 24 and 6:30am on June 25. Another vehicle was stolen from a parking garage in the 7900 block of Eastern Avenue between 1am and 4pm. At approximately 7pm, two people got into a fight in the 8600 block of Piney Branch Road, during which one person cut the other’s hand with a knife before the victim left the area.
The 4th District, which covers Wheaton, Aspen Hill, Colesville, and Glenmont, reported three vehicle thefts, a shooting, and an attempted robbery that resulted in an arrest. A vehicle stolen overnight from the 3000 block of Bel Pre Road was recovered in Anne Arundel County, where two people were arrested. Additional vehicles were stolen from the unit block of Valleyfield Court between 1am and 6am and from the 12200 block of Bushey Drive at approximately 2:41pm. At approximately 1:45am, several rounds were fired into an occupied home in the 13300 block of Parkland Drive, striking a bedroom window. No injuries were reported. Later in the day, at approximately 1:12pm, a suspect tackled a victim from behind and attempted to steal their purse near Veirs Mill Road and Randolph Road. The purse strap broke, and officers arrested the suspect nearby.
The 5th District, which covers Germantown and Clarksburg, reported an aggravated assault involving a knife. At approximately 11:42pm in the 11500 block of Middlebrook Road, two men became involved in a fight. One pulled a knife and cut the other on the arm and leg. One person was arrested.
The 6th District, which covers Gaithersburg, Montgomery Village, and Damascus, reported two vehicle thefts and an aggravated assault. A vehicle was stolen overnight from the 8400 block of Towne Crest Court, and a motorcycle was stolen from a parking garage in the 200 block of Spectrum Avenue at approximately 5:04pm. At approximately 8:38pm, two people got into an argument in the 300 block of North Frederick Avenue, during which one person cut the other on the face with a knife before fleeing. The victim sustained a minor injury.
