The Montgomery County Department of Police has released an overview of reported calls for service from Friday, June 26 through Sunday, June 28, 2026. The incidents below are organized by police district. MCPD notes that this summary does not reflect all calls for service during the referenced dates.
1st District (Rockville): Officers reported an attempted strong-arm robbery with an arrest in the 12200 block of Rockville Pike after a man allegedly tried to steal another person’s wallet at an ATM and threatened to shoot the victim. The victim held onto the wallet and pinned the suspect until officers arrived. Four tires and rims were also stolen from a vehicle in the 200 block of N. Washington St. Auto thefts were reported in the 700 block of Fallsgrove Dr., the 600 block of Marcia Ln. and the 1300 block of Piccard Dr.
2nd District (Bethesda and Chevy Chase): A residential burglary was reported in the 6800 block of Tulip Hill Ter., where a man entered a home under renovation but left after being confronted by the homeowner. Nothing was taken. Auto thefts were also reported in the 2400 block of Lyttonsville Rd., the 9300 block of Rapley Preserve Dr. and the 7300 block of Waverly St.
3rd District (Silver Spring): Police arrested a man after he allegedly tried to force his way into a neighbor’s apartment in the 1000 block of Quebec Ter. and pushed a knife through a partially opened door in an attempt to cut the occupants. Another arrest was made after a person was reportedly seen trying vehicle door handles in an apartment parking garage in the 1200 block of East West Hwy. Auto thefts were reported in the 11400 block of Lockwood Dr., the 900 block of Thayer Ave., the 8700 block of Cameron St., the 1200 block of East West Hwy., the 500 block of Thayer Ave., the 3500 block of Castle Way, the 3400 block of Robey Ter. and the 8400 block of Georgia Ave., where a vehicle containing two firearms was stolen.
4th District (Wheaton and Aspen Hill): Auto thefts were reported in the 4100 block of Postgate Ter., the 1100 block of Cavendish Dr. and the 2800 block of Ivydale St.
5th District (Germantown and Clarksburg): An aggravated assault was reported in the 20600 block of Seneca Meadows Pkwy., where a man allegedly walked up to another man without speaking and punched him, causing serious injuries. Police also reported a residential burglary at a vacant apartment in the 13100 block of Briarcliff Ter., where someone tore a window screen and left trash inside before leaving without taking anything. Tires were stolen from a vehicle in the 4400 block of Damascus Rd. In the 19500 block of Waters Rd., two armed suspects allegedly forced their way into an apartment, pushed a resident to the ground at gunpoint and searched the occupants before leaving. Nothing was taken.
6th District (Gaithersburg and Montgomery Village): A man was arrested after allegedly approaching a group at a bus stop in the 100 block of E. Diamond St., pointing a knife at them, threatening them and chasing one person before officers arrived. Police also recovered a stolen vehicle after it crashed into a tree in the 100 block of Timberbrook La. One person was arrested nearby.
