Jerry’s Subs and Pizza Replacement Now Open

Shah’s Halal is now open in Downtown Silver Spring, according to Source of the Spring. The restaurant has opened at 8517 Colesville Road, taking over the former Jerry’s Subs & Pizza space. Jerry’s permanently closed its final Montgomery County location in January 2025 after serving the community for years.

Founded in 2005 as a single food cart in Richmond Hill, Queens, Shah’s Halal has grown into a family-owned international brand with more than 130 locations. The chain is known for combining Middle Eastern flavors with New York City street food, offering a menu of halal-certified favorites.

Customers can expect popular menu items including chicken over rice, beef and chicken platters, lamb gyros, burgers, wings, falafel, sandwiches, salads, fries, fish, vegan options, and the restaurant’s signature white sauce.

The restaurant is still listed as “under construction” on the company website so exact official hours have not yet been made available as of 7/9/26, but Google lists the restaurant as open from 10am-3am Thursday-Saturday and 10am-1am Sunday-Wednesday.
