Multi-Agency Investigation Leads To Arrest Of Montgomery County Man On Drug And Fraud Allegations

A 38-year-old Silver Spring man has been arrested following a multi-agency investigation that authorities say uncovered large quantities of narcotics, a firearm, cash, and evidence of identity theft and fraud.

According to the Montgomery County Department of Police, Wildy Cherubin, also known as “Young Weegi,” was arrested on Wednesday, July 8, 2026, following an investigation by the department’s Special Investigations Division and the Drug Enforcement Administration’s Washington Division. The investigation was assisted by the MCPD SWAT Team, 4th District Community Action Team, 3rd and 4th District Special Assignment Teams, and the Financial Crimes Unit.

On July 8 and July 9, detectives executed multiple search warrants after developing information that Cherubin was allegedly distributing significant quantities of cocaine and crack cocaine. Investigators also allege he used stolen identities to rent an apartment and conceal criminal activity, including drug distribution. During the searches, detectives seized:

  • Approximately 2.1 kilograms of suspected cocaine
  • Approximately 11 grams of suspected crack cocaine
  • Approximately four pounds of marijuana
  • Approximately $8,400 in U.S. currency
  • One firearm, a magazine, and ammunition

Police said they also recovered documents related to identity theft and fraud. Cherubin was transported to the Montgomery County Central Processing Unit, where he is being held without bond. A photo of Cherubin was not provided in the press release.

The investigation was supported in part by the Maryland Criminal Intelligence Network, which receives grant funding and strategic support from the Governor’s Office of Crime Prevention and Policy to facilitate collaboration among law enforcement agencies across the state.
