The Montgomery County Police Department has released its daily overview of reported calls for service from July 20, 2026.
The 1st District, which covers Rockville, Potomac, and surrounding areas, reported one auto theft. A vehicle was stolen from the 500 block of College Parkway sometime between July 1 and July 20.
The 2nd District, which serves Bethesda, Chevy Chase, and Kensington, reported two commercial burglaries and one auto theft. A business’s front window was broken overnight in the 7900 block of Old Georgetown Road, and property was stolen. Another business in the 10400 block of Auto Park Avenue was entered overnight, and property was taken. Officers also investigated the overnight theft of a vehicle from the 6000 block of Brookside Drive.
The 3rd District, which covers Silver Spring, reported three auto thefts and a weapons discharge. Vehicles were stolen from the 13500 block of Greencastle Ridge Terrace, the 11200 block of Oak Leaf Drive, and the 14100 block of Castle Boulevard. Officers also responded to the 9000 block of Linton Street after two groups exchanged gunfire in a parking lot. No injuries were reported.
The 5th District, which serves Germantown and Clarksburg, reported two overnight vehicle thefts. Vehicles were stolen from the 22300 block of Cabin Branch Avenue and the 300 block of Baltusrol Drive.
The 6th District, which covers Gaithersburg and Montgomery Village, reported two auto thefts and one aggravated assault. Vehicles were stolen from the 20100 block of Welbeck Terrace and from a parking lot in the 800 block of Quince Orchard Boulevard. Officers also responded to the 300 block of North Frederick Avenue after a man allegedly threatened another man before assaulting him with a broken bottle. The victim left the scene.
