Takoma Park Police are investigating after a man allegedly threatened an employee and damaged a local business before fleeing toward Washington DC.
According to police, officers responded at approximately 9:27pm on Thursday, July 24, to MotorKat, located in the 6900 block of Laurel Avenue, for reports of disorderly conduct, threats, and malicious destruction of property.
Police say an unknown man entered the business and caused a disturbance by yelling and taking unwanted photos and videos of patrons. An employee escorted the man outside, where the suspect allegedly threatened to have the employee deported and said he would shoot him.
Investigators say the suspect then reached into his satchel before kicking and damaging the business’s front glass door. He fled the area on foot toward Washington DC. The investigation is ongoing. Anyone with information is asked to contact Takoma Park Police at 301-270-1100.
