Montgomery TennisPlex, located at 18010 Central Park Circle in Boyds, is entering a new chapter as Marco Impeduglia has officially acquired the facility from founders Jack Schore and Anne Pallie, who have spent more than 13 years building it into one of the region’s premier destinations for tennis and pickleball.
Over the past decade, Montgomery TennisPlex has grown from a vision of creating opportunities for players of all ages and skill levels into what many consider one of the largest and most successful racquet sports facilities in the DMV.
According to Montgomery TennisPlex, Schore and Pallie focused not only on growing the sport but also on creating a welcoming community where players could build friendships, develop their skills, and share a lifelong passion for tennis and pickleball.
Impeduglia, a longtime friend of Schore who shares the belief that tennis has the power to change lives, said he is honored to continue the legacy they created. “It is with tremendous gratitude and excitement that I begin this next chapter as the owner of Montgomery TennisPlex,” Impeduglia said. “Jack and Anne built something truly special, and I am honored they have entrusted me with the opportunity to build upon the incredible legacy they created.”
While ownership has changed, one familiar face will remain. Schore, who has spent more than five decades teaching and mentoring players, will continue working with Montgomery TennisPlex’s high-performance junior athletes, helping develop the next generation of tennis talent.
Today, Montgomery TennisPlex features 10 year-round indoor tennis courts, eight dedicated year-round indoor pickleball courts, and four outdoor tennis courts, making it the largest combined indoor tennis and pickleball facility in the DMV. The facility has also experienced steady growth in recent years across junior programs, adult clinics, leagues, camps, tournaments, private lessons, and special events.
As pickleball continues to surge in popularity, Impeduglia says the facility plans to continue expanding participation in both sports while investing in programming, coaching, tournaments, leagues, camps, facility improvements, and new opportunities for players throughout the region.
Although ownership is changing, Montgomery TennisPlex says its mission remains the same: to provide a welcoming home for players of all ages and abilities while continuing to build on the foundation established by Schore and Pallie.
The facility thanked its founders for the legacy they created and said it looks forward to continuing that tradition under new leadership while remaining committed to being the premier destination for tennis and pickleball in the DMV.
