No, A Commanders Running Back Was Not Injured During The Ice Bucket Challenge

It was confirmed Wednesday evening that Washington Commanders running back Rachaad White did not suffer an injury while participating in the running back room’s ice bucket challenge earlier this week.

NFL Network’s Mike Garafolo reported that White instead tweaked his hamstring during a joint practice with the Miami Dolphins. “Regarding #Commanders RB Rachaad White’s absence the last few days, he tweaked his hamstring in the joint practice with the #Dolphins,” Garafolo wrote. “Worked out prior to Friday’s game. Not considered serious or long-term for White, who’s excelled in David Blough’s offense in OTAs and camp.

Earlier Wednesday, speculation circulated that White might have been injured while filming an ice bucket challenge video with the Commanders’ running backs. NFL analyst Warren Sharp shared the video Wednesday evening and wrote, “Rachaad White was fine prior to this ice bucket challenge on 8/17 he’s mysteriously missed the last 2 days of practice since the Commanders posted this video (8/18, 8/19) did he injure himself right here?

Garafolo’s report clarified that White’s absence was related to the hamstring issue sustained during the joint practice and that the injury is not considered serious or long-term.
