The Montgomery County Police Department shared an overview of reported calls for service from August 19. The summary does not reflect every call handled by officers that day.
In the 1st District, which includes Rockville and Potomac, three vehicles were reported stolen. The thefts occurred in the 300 block of Baltimore Rd, the 200 block of Congressional Ln and the 400 block of New Mark Esplanade. Police also reported an attempted commercial burglary around 3:47am Thursday in the 700 block of Rockville Pike. A suspect broke the front glass door of a store with a hard object but did not enter.
In the 2nd District, which includes Bethesda, Chevy Chase and parts of North Bethesda, police reported a robbery around 3:21pm in the 11500 block of Rockville Pike. Suspects surrounded a person and took his property. An aggravated assault was also reported around 10:34pm in the 11900 block of Parklawn Pl, where a suspect allegedly pointed a gun at someone before leaving the area.
In the 3rd District, which includes Silver Spring, White Oak and Burtonsville, two vehicles were reported stolen. One theft occurred around 6:26am in the 8000 block of Kennett St, while the other occurred around 3:29am Thursday in the 3800 block of Gateway Ter. A suspect also forced entry through the front door of a home in the 1100 block of Heartfields Dr sometime between 9am and 6:08pm.
Police made arrests following two separate aggravated assaults in the district. Around 8:29pm in the 1000 block of Spring St, a suspect allegedly pointed a handgun at another driver during a road-rage incident. Around 9:36pm in the 700 block of Seek Ln, a driver allegedly struck a vehicle and drove away with a person in the bed of the truck. Police also reported that an airbag was stolen from a vehicle in the 1500 block of Oakview Dr sometime between Wednesday and 4:30am Thursday.
In the 4th District, which includes Wheaton, Glenmont, Aspen Hill and Olney, a vehicle was reported stolen from a parking lot in the 14200 block of Georgia Ave sometime between 1pm Wednesday and 3:28am Thursday. A motorcycle was also stolen from a driveway in the 12400 block of Connecticut Ave around 2:59am Thursday.
In the 5th District, which includes Germantown, Clarksburg and Damascus, a vehicle was reported stolen in the 20400 block of Summerson Ln sometime between 3:55am and 4:02am.
In the 6th District, which includes Gaithersburg and Montgomery Village, police reported that a round was fired inside an apartment in the 18300 block of Streamside Dr around 8:42pm. Around 9:23pm, suspects displayed a handgun and took property from a person outside a restaurant in the 400 block of N Frederick Ave. Two people were taken into custody.
