Legendary former Washington football coach and current NASCAR team owner Joe Gibbs is launching a new series on X in which he will answer questions submitted by commenters each week. “Anything from football and racing to faith, life, and everything in between,” Gibbs wrote. “Drop your question in the comments, and we’ll pick a couple each week for me to answer.”
Gibbs, now 85, served as head coach of the Washington Redskins from 1981 to 1992 and again from 2004 to 2007. Across 16 seasons, he led Washington to nine playoff appearances, four NFC championships and three Super Bowl victories.
Regarded as one of the NFL’s greatest offensive strategists, Gibbs remains the only head coach to win Super Bowls with three different starting quarterbacks. He was named NFL Coach of the Year in 1982 and 1983 and was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 1996. In 1992, Gibbs and his sons founded Joe Gibbs Racing, which has since won five NASCAR Cup Series championships.
