Kitchen Social has officially opened its first Maryland restaurant at Downtown Crown in Gaithersburg after a soft opening the last couple days. Our very own “Mr. MoCo,” Alex Tsironis, stopped by on opening day to provide a first look at the new restaurant (first-look video available below).
The Ohio-based restaurant is located at 203 Crown Park Avenue, taking over the former Paladar Latin Kitchen & Rum Bar space. Paladar closed in May 2024 after nearly a decade at Downtown Crown.
Founded in Ohio, Kitchen Social is a modern American restaurant known for its open-kitchen concept and comfort food-focused menu. Offerings include house-made pretzels, Brussels sprouts, short rib risotto, Korean BBQ salmon and wood-grilled steaks, along with craft cocktails, beer and wine.
According to the restaurant website, Gaithersburg hours are Monday through Wednesday from 3pm-9pm, Thursday from 11am-10pm, Friday and Saturday from 11am-11pm, and Sunday from 10am-8pm.
