Montgomery County Police shared an overview of select reported calls for service from Friday, August 28, through Sunday, August 30. The summary does not reflect every call handled by the department over the weekend.
Friday, August 28:
In the 1st District, which includes Rockville and parts of Potomac, two auto thefts were reported. One occurred in the area of E Jefferson St. and Monroe St. between 8:30am and 1:00pm on Wednesday, August 26 (reported Friday), and another was taken from the 400 block of Elmcroft Blvd. at approximately 5:00pm. Additionally, suspects displayed firearms and assaulted a victim in the 9300 block of Marseille Dr. at 9:11pm before fleeing.
In the 2nd District, which includes Bethesda, Chevy Chase and parts of Potomac, a vehicle was stolen from the 2300 block of Colston Dr. between 10:00pm Thursday and 7:20am Friday. Later that afternoon, a victim was assaulted by a group of suspects who stole their property in the 7400 block of Wisconsin Ave. at approximately 3:44pm.
In the 3rd District, which includes Silver Spring, an airbag was stolen from a vehicle in the 8900 block of Whitney St. between Tuesday evening and Friday night. Two vehicles were also stolen, one in the 11700 block of Old Columbia Pike between 1:00pm and 4:00pm, and another in the 1100 block of East West Hwy. at 1:51pm.
In the 6th District, which includes Gaithersburg and Montgomery Village, a vehicle was stolen from the 18800 block of Flower Hill Way at 10:01am. In Montgomery Village, a victim was threatened with a knife and had their property stolen in the 19300 block of Montgomery Village Ave. at 4:32pm; one person was arrested.
Saturday, August 29:
In the 1st District, which includes Rockville and parts of Potomac, property was taken from a home in the 5900 block of Bethlehem Ct. The burglary occurred on Monday, August 24, between 8:04pm and 8:29pm and was reported on Saturday.
In the 3rd District, which includes Silver Spring, a vehicle was taken from the 3500 block of Sheffield Manor Ter. between Tuesday night and Saturday night. At 3:38pm, a suspect displayed a handgun during a dispute in the 3400 block of Gateshead Manor Way; one person was arrested.
In the 4th District, which includes Wheaton, Glenmont and Olney, two auto thefts were reported: one in the 2500 block of Glenallan Ave. between Thursday evening and Saturday morning, and another in the 300 block of Chartwell Dr. overnight. Additionally, a motorcycle and a vehicle were stolen from a garage in the 700 block of Hobbs Dr. around 10:01am.
In the 6th District, which includes Gaithersburg and Montgomery Village, a suspect stole property from a store in the 18200 block of Flower Hill Way at 1:00pm and threatened an employee with a weapon, one person was arrested.
Sunday, August 30:
In the 1st District, which includes Rockville and parts of Potomac, a victim was seriously injured during an attempted robbery in the 15900 block of Somerville Dr. The incident occurred on Tuesday, August 25, at 3:20pm and was reported on Sunday.
In the 2nd District, which includes Bethesda, Chevy Chase and parts of Potomac, property was stolen from a business in the 4800 block of Boiling Brook Pkwy. between 2:49am and 3:08am. Two motorcycles were also reported stolen: one in the 11900 block of Parklawn Pl. between Saturday noon and Sunday morning, and another in the 6400 block of Rock Forest Dr. at 4:03pm.
In the 3rd District, which includes Silver Spring, property was taken from a home in the 10100 block of Lorain Ave. between Friday morning and Sunday afternoon. Two catalytic converters were stolen: one in the 1900 block of Grey Castle Way and another in the 9800 block of Braddock Rd. at 3:58am. At 1:44am, a suspect was arrested after brandishing a knife in the roadway in the 8600 block of Colesville Rd. Later at 4:56pm, a victim was threatened with a handgun and robbed in the 8600 block of Piney Branch Rd.
In the 4th District, which includes Wheaton, Glenmont and Olney, a victim was assaulted and stabbed in the 12300 block of Georgia Ave. at approximately 11:46am.
In the 6th District, which includes Gaithersburg and Montgomery Village, two vehicles were stolen, one from the 17200 block of King James Way between Friday evening and Sunday afternoon, and another from the 19300 block of Club House Rd. between Saturday evening and Sunday noon.
