MCPD shared the following overview of reported calls for service from September 1, 2026. The summary does not reflect every call for service that occurred that day.
In the 2nd District, which includes Bethesda, Chevy Chase and Potomac, a commercial burglary was reported in the 7300 block of MacArthur Blvd. Between 1:30am and 2am, the front door of a business was broken and property was taken. A second business in the same shopping center was also targeted.
In the 3rd District, which includes Silver Spring and Burtonsville, five vehicles were reported stolen. The thefts occurred in the 3300 block of Sir Thomas Dr, 1600 block of Carriage House Ter, an unspecified location along E. Schuyler Rd, 1500 block of December Dr and 1700 block of Featherwood St. A residential burglary was also reported in the 1200 block of Tanley Rd, where property was taken from a home at approximately 10am. At 5:55pm, officers recovered a handgun and arrested one person near Columbia Pike and Stewart Ln.
In the 4th District, which includes Wheaton, Glenmont, Aspen Hill and Olney, a robbery was reported in the 12200 block of Veirs Mill Rd. According to police, a victim was pushed to the ground and injured before their property was taken between 8:50pm and 9pm on Friday, August 28. A residential burglary also occurred in the 13300 block of Kara Ln between 6am and 12:50pm. Property was taken from the home, and the interior was damaged.
In the 5th District, which includes Germantown, Clarksburg and Damascus, a vehicle was taken from the 19200 block of Wheatfield Ter at approximately 8pm Monday.
In the 6th District, which includes Gaithersburg and Montgomery Village, a round was fired inside a home in the 18600 block of Grosbeak Ter at approximately 4:55pm and traveled into a neighboring house. No injuries were reported. At approximately 8:55pm, a victim was assaulted aboard a bus near S. Frederick Ave and O’Neill Dr, and their property was taken.
