Man Accused of Pistol-Whipping Victim During Armed Robbery

Montgomery County Police have arrested a 36-year-old Bladensburg man in connection with an armed robbery that occurred in July at an apartment building in Silver Spring.

At approximately 2:58 p.m. on Saturday, July 18, 3rd District officers responded to the Arrive Silver Spring apartments in the 8700 block of Georgia Avenue for a reported assault in progress.

According to police, the victim was leaving his apartment when he was approached by Lucas Graves, who allegedly displayed a handgun and struck the victim multiple times in the head with the gun, causing him to fall to the ground. Police allege Graves then took the victim’s cellphone and pointed the gun at him.

Detectives obtained an arrest warrant charging Graves with first-degree assault, armed robbery and related firearm offenses.

Graves was arrested on Thursday, August 20, by the U.S. Marshals Service Capital Area Regional Fugitive Task Force and transported to the Montgomery County Central Processing Unit. According to police, he is being held without bond.
