Progress remains limited at the upcoming Qdoba in Olney, where major demolition and construction have yet to begin despite an interior construction permit being issued this spring.
Most of the former Eco Cleaners space at 3486 Olney Laytonsville Rd. has been cleared out, but significant work remains before it can become a restaurant. The future Qdoba is located next to Royal Bagel Bakery in the Olney Shopping Center.
In April, we reported that a permit valued at $200,000 had been approved for interior construction. That followed our February report on leasing documents confirming that Qdoba had signed on to take over the space. An official opening date has not been announced.
Qdoba Mexican Eats is known for its customizable burritos, bowls, tacos, nachos, and salads, with a variety of proteins, rice, beans, and toppings. Its signature offerings include 3-Cheese Queso, with guacamole and queso included at no additional cost on entrées.
