The Montgomery County Police Department (MCPD) has shared an overview of reported calls for service from Tuesday, September 8, 2026. The summary includes burglaries, vehicle thefts, a hate/bias incident, and an aggravated assault that resulted in an arrest. Some incidents occurred on earlier dates but were reported Tuesday.
In the 1st District, which serves Rockville and portions of western Montgomery County, police reported an attempted commercial burglary in the unit block of Preserve Pkwy. Suspects attempted to break into a business using a hard object between 7:26am and 7:32am on Saturday, September 5. No entry was made, and the incident was reported Tuesday.
In the 2nd District, which serves Bethesda, Chevy Chase, and surrounding areas, two catalytic converters were stolen. One theft occurred in the 9700 block of Corbran Ln. between 7pm Sunday, September 6, and 9am Tuesday, September 8. The other occurred in the 3200 block of Brooklawn Ter. between 3pm Monday, September 7, and 7am Tuesday. Police also reported antisemitic and racist graffiti on the grounds of an elementary school in the 6300 block of Lone Oak Dr. The hate/bias incident occurred Monday between 7:30am and 9:48am and was reported Tuesday. Two vehicle thefts were also listed, including one in the 7900 block of Cypress Pl. between 8:20pm Monday and 7am Tuesday, and another in the 4800 block of Battery Ln. reported Tuesday.
In the 3rd District, which serves Silver Spring and surrounding areas, a business in the 10100 block of Colesville Rd. was broken into at approximately 2:49am Tuesday. A safe was stolen.
In the 5th District, which serves Germantown and surrounding areas, a vehicle theft was reported Tuesday in the 8800 block of Primula Dr. Police also reported an aggravated assault in the 13500 block of Derry Glen Ct. at approximately 7:45pm Tuesday. A suspect threatened a victim with a knife, and one person was arrested.
In the 6th District, which serves Gaithersburg and Montgomery Village, a vehicle was stolen from the 18300 block of Streamside Dr. between 8pm Sunday, September 6, and 8:30am Tuesday, September 8. Police also reported a residential burglary in the unit block of Nina Ct., where property was taken from a home Tuesday between 9am and noon.
