The Hive Soda Bar will open Monday, September 28 at 19900 Fisher Ave. in Poolesville, bringing dirty sodas and other beverages to the area.
The Hive is owned by Robin Snider and Andrea Burton, both lifelong Montgomery County residents. Snider is also a graduate of Poolesville High School. The owners said the concept was created as a way to bring something different to Poolesville while providing a gathering place geared toward younger members of the community. That idea also helped inspire the name, The Hive.
A dirty soda is a carbonated beverage mixed with cream and flavored simple syrup. The drinks have become increasingly popular in recent years, with the trend originating in the western United States as a fun, nonalcoholic beverage option.
September 28 will serve as The Hive’s initial opening with its full lineup of products available. A grand opening and ribbon-cutting ceremony are expected to follow at a later date.
During the first week, customers who download The Hive Soda Bar app and use it to pay will receive a $2 off coupon code. The app is currently available through the Apple App Store and Google Play.
Initial hours will be Monday through Friday from 7am-3pm. The menu and construction of the space are currently being finalized ahead of the opening.
