The Montgomery County Police Department (MCPD) shared an overview of reported calls for service for the weekend of September 18 through September 20. MCPD notes that the overview does not reflect all calls for service during the referenced dates.
In the 1st District, which includes Rockville, Potomac and portions of North Bethesda, police reported an auto theft in the 800 block of Grand Champion Dr. A vehicle was stolen from a parking lot sometime between 8pm Thursday, September 17 and noon Friday, September 18. MCPD also included a fatal pedestrian collision that occurred in the 19600 block of Fisher Ave at approximately 1:51am Sunday. According to police, a 27-year-old man was struck by a vehicle and later died at a hospital.
In the 3rd District, which includes Silver Spring, White Oak, Colesville and Burtonsville, police reported a theft from a vehicle in the 3900 block of Blackburn Ln. Sometime between 4pm Thursday and 3pm Friday, a suspect broke a vehicle’s window and stole its airbag.
In the 5th District, which includes Germantown, Clarksburg and Damascus, officers made a weapon and drug arrest following a traffic stop at Middlebrook Rd and Germantown Rd at approximately 5:03pm Friday. Police said officers saw a handgun inside the vehicle and arrested the driver on weapon and drug charges. Police also reported an auto theft in the 13100 block of Winged Foot La, where a vehicle was stolen sometime between 5:30pm Friday and 9am Saturday. On Sunday, a residential burglary was reported in the 12900 block of Climbing Ivy Dr. Police said a juvenile entered the home through an unlocked front door between 9:40pm and 9:46pm, took an item and left the scene.
In the 6th District, which includes Gaithersburg and Montgomery Village, police reported four auto thefts. Vehicles were stolen from the 400 block of Girard St, 9600 block of Duffer Way, 9700 block of Oakdale Dr and 500 block of Philmont Dr between Thursday evening and Sunday morning. Police also reported a commercial burglary in the 800 block of S. Frederick Ave at approximately 4:23pm Friday. According to MCPD, a man broke a lock to enter an office and was taken into custody. On Saturday at approximately 7:44pm, several juveniles allegedly assaulted a victim and stole his property in the 18600 block of Grosbeak Ter. Officers located two suspects.
